- what was your favourite part of this book?
- the ending. there are lots of things to think about and i like thinking about lots of things. like up-pointing arrows, because he went up.

- the little prince meets several other characters on different planets. which one did you find most memorable?
- the lamplighter and the lamp. i remember it most because the little prince liked it the best.

- do any characters remind you of someone you know?
- no. i don't know of anyone who thinks he owns the stars, like the businessman.

- if you could be in any scene, which one would you be in?
- i would want to talk to the fox. i think getting poisoned by the snake wouldn't be the best, even i got to go to another planet. maybe there is a little prince movie.

- did you ever find the little prince frustrating?
- no. but did he ever bug the narrator!

- if the plot was a shape, what would it be?
- a square. the story is only one line, but they go around the different parts together. a square has one more line than a triangle, which represents that it is a long story.

- is there anything that you have tamed, like the fox?
- well, flash-sisk is certainly tamed, that's for sure.

today i went to beavers and discovered how to build

at beavers we made popsicle stick beaver lodges. i'm making mine a picture frame.

take the challenge

we got the family fun kids activity magazine. the art challenge was a gum sculpture. mine is a monster. i used three pieces of gum. i wanted to keep it forever but it got squished.

new instrument

i learned how to make a straw oboe. we are going to start a band as our family business. we will play concerts and record cassette tapes. we will be more famous than sarah harmer and joel plaskett.

beach theme night

we made sand art at beavers. this is a portrait of daddy in his underwear.

i learned that raw cranberries are super tasty. i ate a whole bowl of juicy cranberries.

we saw people launch a traditional chinese hot air balloon lantern over the harbour at victoria park. we asked them about it and they gave us one.

a day with the western baby band

i learned how to tie knots. while daddy was reading me a story i tied six knots in my pants strings. this made the pants too tight.

and i met the western baby band. it is a one-person band. the conductor is soleil. i recorded the western baby band on my tape cassette recorder.
